Don Covay & Friends

Don Covay’s name is synonymous with “old school” R&B. He has written hits for The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Huey Lewis & The News, Steppenwolf, Dave Edmunds, Bonnie Raitt and just about everybody else. He has also recorded several best selling albums for Atlantic and Mercury.Don Covay & Friends features primarily new compositions written by Don this year as well as several of his best-known songs. Don is helped out by some very talented friends who were eager to show their gratitude: Paul Rodgers, Wilson Pickett, Huey Lewis, Dan Penn, Frederick Knight, Syl Johnson, Otis Clay, Ann Peebles and Paul Shaffer to name a few.Don had a major stroke in 1992 and has slowly built his way back to the making of this record
