Idris Muhammad

 A creative and extremely versatile drummer, he brings bebop facility, an earthly New Orleans- styled syncopation and an uncanny sense of melodicism to bear on the kit. Idris' signature gumbo of influences has marked countless sessions since the 60's. But nowhere is his penchant for melodic statement more prevelant than the stripped down setting of duets. With partners Joe Lovano, George Coleman and Gary Bartz, Idris engages in lively, highly interactive dialogue - strictly in the moment - and aptly-titled Right Now
